Ese halo de diseño “limpio” que desprende la manzanita del señor Jobbs no le parece tan limpio a Greenpeace. Han imitado, mas bien parodiado, el diseño de la pagina de Apple para denunciar que siguen utilizando en su fabricacion materiales nocivos que otras compañias han accedido a no utilizar.

Puedes incluso desde la pagina hacer llegar este mensaje a Steve Jobs, CEO de Apple Computers con el asunto: “I wish my Mac came in green” (Desearia que mi Mac viniera en verde). El mensaje es el siguiente:

“I want to be proud of my next Mac because it has the best environmental standards possible. Not just as good as other companies, I expect Apple to be a green leader.

“Random Screen” is a mechanical thermo dynamic display which does not rely on any electricity. Each of the 12 by 12 cm pixels is an individual entity. A tee candle lights and controls each pixel. The rising heat of the candle turns a modified beer can which turns the pixel on and off. Each pixel has its own frequence. The more bright a candle shines the faster is the rotation of the can.

Echigo-Tsumari es una zona del interior de la isla nipona que esta siendo progresivamente despoblada por su antiguos residentes, agricultores principalmente, y que en los ultimos tiempos se ha visto afectada por inundaciones y numerosos terremotos. La Trienal de Arte de Echigo-Tsumari pretende dar otra vida a este enclave natural de 760 km cuadrados presentando obras de hasta 200 artistas de 40 nacionalidades. Paralelamente a la preparacion de las obras, los artistas han colaborado en algunas labores de rehabilitacion de los daños ocasionados por estos desastres naturales.

Este 2006 se ha celebrado entre el 23 de Julio y el 10 de Septiembre, asi que podeis ir haciendo planes para el 2009.

Por fin!!! Parecia que no iban a llegar. Algo por mi y por otros muchos muy esperado… Se trata de las versiones para ordenadores Mac con procesador Intel, o versiones Universal Binary de las aplicaciones de audio de una de las mas importantes empresas de software musical: Native Instruments.

Para ir abriendo boca han anunciado que en breve vamos a disponer de Komplete 4, un paquete que contiene un jugoso numero de plugins de la casa. Entre ellos estan las nuevas versiones de AKOUSTIK PIANO, BATTERY 3, FM8 and ABSYNTH 4 y un nuevo y prometedor MASSIVE, entre otros. Tambien se pueden adquirir sus elementos por separado.

Desde que alla por 1998 descubriera a James Lavelle, junto a Dj Shadow, en el proyecto Unkle ha pasado mucho y Jimmy ha estado llevando su talento por otras formaciones. En este caso, en The Album Leaf ha contado ademas con colaboraciones de parte de la seccion de cuerdas de Sigur Ros o la programacion de ritmos de Telefon Tel Aviv, entre otros.

Xabier Idoate ha llenado el Museo de Navarra de ciudades sin nombre con las que apela al hombre en relación con la ciudad desde la manipulación que le ofrecen las nuevas tecnologías. Están Pamplona, Bilbao, Berlín y Lisboa, pero podrían ser otras. «Son imágenes del medio urbano como metáfora de lo social», decía ayer el propio artista en la presentación de la exposición. Graphoskop 2005/2006,que así se titula, se compone de 70 obras realizadas en papel y se articula en cuatro bloques temáticos con nombres «cacofónicos», como dijo este artista de 52 años que conjuga la actividad creativa con las clases que imparte de Tecnologías Gráficas en la facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad del País Vasco. Hace un tiempo ya lei acerca de este proyecto y parece que esta evolucionando. En este caso se trata de un software que permite usar cualquier pantalla tactil a modo de controlador para Ableton Live!. Se trata de MonoTouchLive. Esta especialmente ideado para el controlador/pantalla tactil Lemur. Esta aplicacion para controlar Live! solo funciona bajo Windows XP, asi que usuarios de Mac debereis recurrir a Bootcamp o Parallels.

David Ersser creates seemingly cold, meticulous reproductions of Hi-Fi equipment, turntables and keyboards. The thin wooden cable running down from the stereo to the floor and to a sculpted plug, is made up of short sections of straight balsa to give the impression of a curve. From a distance these works appear at first flawless, however scrutiny reveals the maker’s hand. This hand is the hand of an enthusiast model maker fervently gluing late at night in his garage. This mode of production and subject matter evoke the nerd’s hermetic and frantic DJ-ing in his bedroom. Lifeless and slightly wonky, his facsimiles are drawings and aspirations made solid, as the teenage geek fetishizes the stereo equipment of his dreams.

“Las borrosas fronteras geográficas que produce la digitalidad global, se materializan de forma sonora en la nueva exploración de Filtro: Región 4. El intercambio cultural que se produce a través de los medios digitales ha generado una maleabilidad cultural. Como una migración que traza una ruta rizomática, carente de un centro, un punto de partida específico, la trayectoria del dub y sus derivados, filtrada a través de fenómenos como el grime y el dubstep inglés, y reencontrándose con elementos locales específicos, está presente hoy más que nunca en un gran espectro de la cultura popular: desde el boom del reggaeton en la radio de todo el mundo, hasta la imagen de los canales de videos. Así, sonoridades provenientes de la Región 4 [la cual incluye Australia, Nueva Zelanda, islas del Pacífico, América Central, México, Sudamérica y el Caribe] confluyen en un mismo punto para ser transformadas en un híbrido que además de dar lo suficiente para reflexionar en torno al circuito tecnología/cultura pone de manifiesto tanto las influencias como la evolución y la identidad musical renovada del sello. Resulta paradójico que códigos regionales creados arbitrariamente para controlar el acceso a contenidos digitales dependiendo la zona geográfica, funcionen inversamente a nivel conceptual para producir una reinterpretación de los sonidos de la región…”

Vice Magazine es una publicacion internacional que como otras ha pasado de su edicion en papel al pdf gratuito. Tratan tematicas diversas mediante afilados articulos y provocadoras imagenes. En la web estan disponibles para la descarga los dos ultimos numeros. Como contra quizas la publicacion peque de estar un poco cargada de publicidad.

El streetart de Banksy va superando formatos y ahora se le ha ocurrido dar el cambiazo a 500 copias de cedes de Paris Hilton de las estanterias de las tiendas, eso si, previa modificacion de caratulas y cede. Un usuario de flickr ha colgado un set con fotos de una copia del cede en cuestion. Tambien dice que posee dos copias y una la ha puesto a la venta en ebay y esta alcanzando precios de coleccionista. La noticia ha trascendido hasta la misma BBC.
