It’s been a time since we got an advance of what it’s supposed to be the next NYPC album, which has been named as “Fantastic playroom”. One LP formed by 10 tracks, where the most notorious thing is that we already know the 70% of them all (aesthetically much better than “7 of 10″), so what we deduce is that they’ve included A-sides and B-sides as well, thing that makes us have only three new tracks, two of them quite good tracks, but the other one… Well, I should to say that I’m half happy, half dissapointed with this release, mainly because I hoped to hear many more new tracks instead every B-side of each single, but anyway…. that’s what we have, so stop complaining! At least we have two new tracks that are worth, one of them is called “Talking talking”, quite relaxed, funky and nighty, one of these tracks which tries to transmit elegance and style while whispering to the microphone and stuff. In the other hand we also have “Fan”, which is more danceable, but not reaching a “dancefloor superhit” level at all… and it continues keeping the funk legacy that is always present at their other tracks. Furthermore they have added another track called “Grey”, totally superfluous in my opinion.
Well, in conclusion, nothing new, but good quality. If you already knew the band, you won’t get surprised, but if you’re discovering them right now, don’t doubt about buy the record and push it over the heap formed by your other records from Out hud and Sneaky sound system.

Sascha Ring se esmera en cada referencia, y con este largo, despues de tres años construyendolo, no iba a ser menos. Desde el 2001 lleva publicando, sobre todo para Shitkatapult y en cada ocasión define un estilo, que no viene repitiendo, aunque sus rasgos son siempre identificables. Meticulosamente rematados todos los temas, en Walls caben destacar mayor aparición de vocales, culpables son Raz Ohara y el propio Sascha. Los ritmos se debaten entre el IDM granular de su cuño, pop o incluso trip-hop, ritmos invertebrados y shoegazing para rematar. Las voces troceadas, los violines o guitarras, pianos y todo los sonidos sintéticos que le caracterizan, aúpan a este disco como un must en vuestras colecciones. Suma y sigue.

Here we present the brand new debut single from the new french hype: The teenagers. The single, called as one of their most famous song, “Homecoming”, was released last day 20th on Merok recordings, a UK based label, home of some new and famous bands such Klaxons, Crystal castles or Comanechi (keep an eye on this last one!). Three of their most famous tracks have been included in this release (“Homecoming”, “Fuck Nicole” and “We are The teenagers”), so we don’t get so much surprised when we hear it for the first time, mainly because we already have heard them all at their MySpace (actually, they are part of the so-called “MySpace movement”), but if you haven’t heard them yet, don’t waste your time, just do it NOW! (compulsory). How do they sound like? Well, I could comfortably say that The teenagers make what Klaxons should’ve made, this means, danceable indie rock mixed-up with syntesizers which enhance the rhythm when you’re on the dancefloor, but this time, well done, with savoir-faire. So you all already know, dress up with your tightest drainpipe jeans, put on your tackiest fuchsia t-shirt, and dance to hell when the dj plays this band at the disco!

Vía el siempre sorprendente blog Fogonazos descubro la existencia de, como ellos mismos afirman, uno de los lugares mas siniestros de la tierra. Se trata de una granja de tigres en China, en la que aparte de albergar un buen numero de estos animales, otros animales, estos bípedos, acuden previo pago al dantesco espectaculo de ver y participar en como son alimentados con presas vivas.

La imagen que he puesto para ilustrar este post, es lo menos agresivo que he podido colocar, y recomiendo que si sois sensibles no visiteis Fogonazos.

Demostraciones como esta de crueldad animal no ayudan para nada a considerar a China como un pais avanzado y que respete ningun derecho humano ni animal.

This Bliss viene precedido de otro album y varios eps en Dial y ha sido ampliamente aclamado por la critica, y en estas paginas, como no podia ser menos. Su estilo como reza en su pagina, podria calificarse de romanticismo digital. Techno espartano, que huye de excesos y que se adorna de profundos bajos, cuerdas, y sintes que flotan entre ecos abisales. Today I’m not going to talk about the latest release in the world. Not at all. Actually I’m gonna talk about a record which was released on the remote 2004, on an italian label called Riotmaker. Who are we talking about? About two guys called Scuola Furano. They are from Gorizia (northwards in Italy) and their names are Marco Busolini and Borut Viola, who have given us a couple of remixes and mixtapes, one EP and a self-titled LP (the one we are going to talk about) so far.
Maybe you are wondering what’s special on this record, which is posted today in spite of having almost four years old… Well, mainly because it actually sounds kinda the same than a lot of those new records that are released in France nowadays… curious, isn’t it?
The final configuration of this LP is formed by 9 tracks with an evident influence from the late 90s disco/house wave, that magazines from the whole world, tagged such “filtered house”, “disco house”, “funky house”, … Important names of this genre could be people like Robbie Riviera, Daft Punk or even Masters at work. One will rapidly realize about what I’m talking about once the record is heard, and one can also compare this sound with the new frenchie wave I’ve mentioned before, while listening to the new Institubes’ mixtape. So, if I had to give you a recommendation, it would be that if you have the chance of seeing these guys live, don’t miss them, they really worth!

Yes, sweden is on the way to rock the dancefloors. A grooving straightness, crisp and always pushing, ture is playing around nicely with the arrangement and fading in and out some nice effects. Jeff Bennett takes mörker to the more driving techhouse side. Nice one!

He podido disfrutar de un fin de semana largo de emociones, calor y asfalto en el Circuit de Montmelo con la celebracion del Gran Premio de España de F1. Se batio record en asistencia a un espectaculo deportivo en España con 140.700 asistentes. La organizacion, no estuvo mal, para las dimensiones del evento. 100% recomendable.

Parece ser que el presidente de Apple Inc., Steve Jobs, se ha dado por aludido ante las protestas que algunos grupos medioambientales, Greenpeace a la cabeza, del cual ya hable anteriormente en este blog, y que parodiaron el website de la empresa de Cupertino, y se ha decidido a lanzar un comunicado con sus compromisos. Segun el mismo Steve, pecan de hablar solo de sus exitos alcanzados, y no se proponen metas, o mejor dicho, estas no son publicamente aireadas habitualmente.
El comunicado es una declaracion detallada de compromisos de reduccion de toxicos y de reciclaje. La verdad es que no esta mal, pero aun queda mucho por hacer.
